Recommended time frames are noted for each workshop; however, they can be adjusted to fit your particular scheduling needs. Bear in mind that suggested time frames include a great deal of time for personal exploration & experimentation, as well as opportunities for one-to-one guidance from me and discussion amongst the group.

Preparing to Podcast
Participants will learn about benefits and advantages of incorporating podcasting into their repertoire of projects and assessments. Both the technical and pedagogical aspects of podcasting will be discussed. Ample workshop time will be provided for hands-on practice with Audacity, a free, cross-platform audio recording program. Recommended time: One 2-4 hour session
Google Tools for Teachers
Google is best known for their search engine, but they also provide many tools such as GMail, Calendar, Reader, Google Docs, Picasa, iGoogle, and Google Earth that can facilitate teaching, collaboration, and organization. Learn how taking advantage of these free tools can benefit both you and your students! Recommended time: One to two 4-8 hour sessions
Wikis, Wikis, Everywhere: Engendering Collaboration and Providing Audience
Participants will learn about the basics of wiki creation as well as explore practical classroom applications, with a heavy emphasis on the collaborative capabilities of wikis. Ample workshop time is provided to work both independently and collaboratively in creating wikis for use in professional educational practice. Recommended time: One to two 6-8 hour sessions
Exploring Online Personal Learning Networks
This course enables participants to understand how the Internet can facilitate personal professional development. Participants will become familiar with Web 2.0 standards such as blogs, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking, and social networks in order to create their own 24-7 PD network. Recommended time: Three to four 6-8 hour sessions
